Centennial Sleep
Centennial Sleep consists of macro images depicting blown-up details of worn-out View-Master discs from the 1960s, including “The Sleeping Beauty” and others. Centennial Sleep seeks to create new narratives by appropriation and recontextualization of obsolete media objects. Sleep now refers to abandoned images themselves, as well as psychological states of an individual.
Below, selected prints on display at “Uni” (Sleep) group exhibition in Humppila 2016.
