Withdrawal

Withdrawal describes feelings of absolute alienation from one’s everyday surroundings and circumstances.

The image shows a slowly moving, greyish, wintery landscape from the Finnish archipelago, shot through the window of a ferry. Drops of rain fall on the window, gradually distorting the already smudgy image (shot with an old smart phone) towards abstract, monochromatic mush. Distant noises from a restaurant are heard in the background as well as unclear bits of overheard conversations.
