Musica Mystica

By chance I happened to browse upon a most interesting article, Musica Mystica. It deals with the so-called London esoteric underground (or the hidden reverse, if you wish) that served as a breeding ground for the industrial and post-industrial scene (Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Coil, Current 93 and so on)… and more. Recommended reading, especially [...]

Placard 8

On June 23, me & Ovro travelled to Helsinki (or Espoo as a matter of fact) to participate in the eighth installment of the Placard headphone festival. Reptiljan: The Hellbender Suite

Reptiljan : The Hellbender Suite Half-an-hour package of compressed energy, a dirty bomb that purifies both mind and soul. Reptiljan is a manic burst of noise, hectic rhythms and splintered guitars, making the listener squirm, laugh uncontrollably and see lizards on the walls. Reptiljan combines the blast-beats of grindcore and the broken rhythms of drill’n’bass / breakcore, samples in everything from 1980’s heavy metal to modern hip-hop and lets in a good dose of abrasive noise and distortion.
